Sensory Room Appeal: Can you help Bring Light to the Beacon?

What do we do and how we help

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) cares for people at all stages of their life, in their own homes, in the community and as inpatients in our community hospitals and units.

Raising Health is a registered charity, set up to raise funds to improve the experience, care and wellbeing of LPT's patients, service users and staff.

Although core NHS provision is Government funded, there is equipment, improvements to ward environments, patient activities, new projects and research that is above and beyond that core funding. That's where Raising Health comes in. With your support we can really make a difference and improve healthcare for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Meet our mascot the Amazin Raisin

We would like to introduce our mascot – the Amazing Raisin'. How did he become part of the Raising Health fundraising family I hear you ask? One wet and windy afternoon our Fundraising Manager Lindsay had the idea of turning the 'smile' icon from our logo into a knitted mascot. Picking up the phone to super-knitter Rosemary, the challenge was set and sure enough the following week the Amazing Raisin' was brought to life!

Since then he's been to visit many of our inpatient wards, handed out Staff Lottery prizes, been out to meet patients in their homes and travelled more than 100 miles around the county strapped to walkers, cyclists and joggers during the Vest Appeal fundraiser!

He sums up everything about us here at Raising Health - supportive, friendly, always keen to help those who need it most - and above all he brings a smile to people's faces! Look out for him around the County!

How your support will help children like Ellis

Ellis Raynor is 7 and has Cystic Fibrosis. He needs to have a 'port-a-cath' permanently in his chest. Having the port-a-cath flushed every month was a traumatic experience for Elliott and his mum, and started to affect other aspects of Elliott's life. Everything changed when the Diana Children's Community Service stepped in...
