Sarah smashes her swim challenge in memory of her brother Greg

4 Aug 2025

We are absolutely thrilled to congratulate Sarah on completing her incredible 4km open water swim at SwimRutland this past weekend — all in loving memory of her brother, Greg, and in support of our gym at Stewart House.

Sarah's challenge was deeply personal. After tragically losing Greg in a cycling accident in 2022, she and her family raised thousands to help build a gym at Stewart House, which provides structured, person-centred rehabilitation care. The services focus on recovery, skill-building, and wellbeing. Care is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team all working collaboratively with service users and their families to plan and support recovery. Greg, a passionate triathlete and believer in the power of exercise for mental health, had planned to fundraise for the Stewart House cause before his death.

The gym officially opened earlier this year, dedicated to Greg’s memory but Sarah’s mission didn’t end there. She bravely signed up for SwimRutland 2025 to continue raising funds to continue equip the gym and maintain it.

Now, we’re delighted to say: she did it!

Sarah Holliehead said: “I DID IT! I wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored me for my swim. I really am so grateful to you all for reading my story and donating to this wonderful cause in memory of my brother.”

As a self-described "trundler not a racer," Sarah pushed herself far outside her comfort zone and succeeded with enormous heart and determination. Her honesty, humour and strength truly capture the spirit of her fundraising motto: Be More Greg.

Sarah, we are so proud of you and so grateful to you for continuing Greg’s incredible legacy. You are helping transform lives.

If you haven’t donated yet, there’s still time to support Sarah: https://www.justgiving.com/page/sarah-holliehead-2
