We have reached our fundraising target for the Bring Light to the Beacon Appeal

25 Oct 2024

We are so pleased to announce that we have reached our fundraising target for our ‘Beacon sensory room appeal’.

The Beacon Appeal has been an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise money to have a sensory room installed at a local facility for children and adolescents with severe mental health issues, the Beacon Unit. Due to generous donations from local businesses, community groups, trusts and foundations and our amazing fundraisers, we have raised an incredible £25,000 which will enable us to have the room installed.

This money will also allow us to purchase a range of sensory equipment including a bubble wall, an infinity tunnel, an overhead projector and two portable sensory trolleys for patients who are too unwell to leave their rooms.

For this incredible achievement, we want to thank the major donors that made this possible including:

·       Amazon

·       The Anand and Sethi Trust

·       The Florence Turner Trust

·       The Maud Elkington Trust

·       Pukka Pies

·       Fleckney Parish Council

·       Bradgate Rotary Club

Without your help and support, we would not be able to offer this space to local children who need a space to relax, recover and engage with staff in sensory therapies. We hope to start work on the room within the coming months and cannot wait to share updates on how it looks and how it is benefiting our patients.

Thank you to every single person who donated. It will make an immeasurable difference to our patients, their families and the staff at the Beacon Unit.
