Sensory Room Appeal: Can you help Bring Light to the Beacon?

Inpatients at Coalville Community Hospital to get a Christmas gift this festive season thanks to charity appeal and donation from local Amazon distribution centre

22 Dec 2022

Nurses at Coalville Community Hospital will distribute more than 50 gifts to patients staying in its wards this Christmas, thanks to generous donations to Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s (LPT) Raising Health charity Raising a Smile for Christmas appeal.

The appeal, which raised more than £2,600, has provided nearly 600 gifts for inpatients who will be in one of LPT’s community hospitals and inpatient units on Christmas Day, including wards at Coalville Community Hospital -  as well to provide gifts to young people within the care of the Trust’s mental health inpatient unit for children and young people.

The trust’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB), which is made up of young people aged 12-21 who have lived experience of being treated by the child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS), raised money with school bake sales. The Amazon Coalville distribution warehouse BHX2 also donated more than 50 gifts to be given to patients in hospital on Christmas Day.
