This week, we were proud to stand alongside patients, families, staff, and supporters to officially open a brand-new NHS therapy facility at the heart of Hinckley. This space will transform care for both children and adults across Leicestershire.
Located within the Hinckley Hub on Rugby Road, the new centre features ten treatment rooms and two spacious therapy gyms, offering vital physiotherapy and occupational therapy services.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by two local patients, whose presence reminded us why this work matters so deeply. We were also thrilled to welcome Filbert Fox, Leicester City FC’s mascot, who brought smiles and high-fives to mark the occasion.
Supporting Children’s Services
At Raising Health, we’re honoured to have played a key role in helping bring the children’s therapy area to life. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and partners, this space is now filled with colour, comfort, and creativity, designed to support young patients on their journey.
Here’s how our incredible community made it happen:
• Wooden Spoon charity and our amazing Tea Bar Volunteers helped equip the calming Sensory Room, which is a safe haven for children needing extra support.
• Next Giving charity team transformed five therapy rooms with stunning themed feature walls, from outer space to under the sea, sparking imagination and joy.
• Next Giving also funded a heartfelt plaque in memory of Jenny Saunders, a beloved physiotherapist who served LPT for 17 years.
These enhancements go far beyond aesthetics. They create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, inspired, and supported.
With an expected 550 children accessing therapy services each year, we’re proud to support making this space more welcoming.
This project is a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together: patients, who are at the heart of everything we do, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners.
To everyone who contributed: thank you. We could not achieve this without you.
