Raising Health is managed by the Charitable Funds Committee, which comprises four trustees who hold senior positions within Leicester Partnership NHS Trust, plus members of the finance and fundraising team.

The Charitable Funds Committee oversees the governance of charity including the fundraising strategy and activities, charitable spend and investment strategy. 

Meet the Charitable Funds Committee

Cathy Ellis, Chair of Raising Health

Cathy has been Chairman of Raising Health and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) since 2015.  LPT provides mental health, learning disability and community services for adults and children in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

LPT is a teaching trust and works closely with the University of Leicester School of Life Sciences to conduct research and provide placements to students during their degree programmes.  Cathy is a member of the University Council and Finance Committee. 

Between 2010 and 2013 Cathy was Chairman of the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland NHS Primary Care Trust which commissioned patient care in acute hospitals, community services, GP surgeries and Prisons.

Cathy is a Chartered Accountant, has a BCom business degree from the University of Birmingham and an MBA from Lancaster University.

Sharon Murphy, trustee

Sharon is a trustee of the Raising Health and has been Deputy Director of Finance and Procurement for LPT for four years.

Sharon is a chartered accountant and has 20 years’ finance experience across a range of NHS organisations. Sharon is a keen supporter of the charity and has undertaken fund raising activities such as the ten peaks challenge to raise funds for the charity.

 Ruth Marchington, trustee

Ruth is a non-executive director at LPT as well as being one of the Raising Health trustees.

Ruth brings extensive experience of external funding and successful implementation of externally funded community and environmental programmes in the public sector - working with partners, voluntary bodies and hard to reach communities.

She is an independent member of the Audit Committee of the National Lottery Community Fund and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. 

Frank Lusk, trustee

Frank is trust secretary for LPT as well as being a Raising Health trustee. A long standing member of the committee, Frank has been a keen participant in many of the fundraising challenges over the years, hiking and running to support our fundraising appeals. 

 

 

 

Lindsay Woodward

Lindsay is fundraising manager for Raising Health. She has more than eight years experience in fundraising and prior to that held various project management positions within the NHS. Lindsay is passionate about service improvement and how the charity can help improve the experience of LPT's patients and service users. 

 

Jackie Moore

Jackie is financial controller for LPT. Jackie provides financial support to Raising Health and is responsible for producing the annual accounts and ensuring finance governance. Seeing the difference that fundraising appeals and donations have made is so rewarding!

 

 

Lorraine Newstead

Lorraine is Assistant Finance Manager and I have been looking after the Charity’s finances since  2012. Lorraine loves  keeping the finances organised and efficient and seeing what a positive difference donations can make to our services for staff and patients.
